What is your book about?
Healing with Cannabis has two parts. First is a scientific but not-too-technical story of the endocannabinoid system, a billion-year-old system in vertebrates that lets cannabis work in the body and brain. In part 2, about medical cannabis, interviews with some of the best international cannabinoid researchers tell why and how cannabis helps treat PTSD, pain, MS, anxiety, some elements of cancer, and many others.
What inspired you to write your book?
The growing popularity of cannabis across nations, states and cannabis users, and its effectiveness for a huge range of medical problems.
What is a typical day like for you?
When I’m writing, a day is a combination of telling a story, interviewing experts, searching for photos/graphics.
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
Moving an idea from thought to hardcover reality, with value for readers.
What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?
I’m a shameless lover of detective books and my 3 current favorite authors are John Sandford (Lucas Davenport, Virgil Flowers), and Marc Cameron (Arliss Cutter, Jack Ryan).
What advice do you have to offer our readers?
If you want to write a book, you can. Make it about something you have unique perspective on or love a lot.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
My first book was Trips: How Hallucinogens work in your Brain. My next book may be about psychedelic medicine.
What’s next for you?
Maybe a book about the amazing growth of psychedelic medicine.
