What is your book about?
It’s a book about my adoption story, my reunion story, and the healing journey I went on in order to process my Primal Wound. It explores the inner struggle of my psyche, how I found my way back to my True Self, and it provides principles and practices of the mind/body training I used to heal, of which I am now a twenty year practitioner and trainer.
What inspired you to write your book?
I have telling bits of my story and building a small audience with my blog since 2015, when my birth mother published her memoir. When the pandemic hit, I suddenly had time to put it all together into a book, as I had been dreaming to do for over a decade.
If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:
I work as a teacher/trainer/coach of the mind/body/energy practice called Brain Education. I am currently the regional director of Body & Brain Centers in the state of Washington, where Brain Education is taught.
What is a typical day like for you?
I am currently teaching mostly online. I teach a course related to the steps I lay out in the book, as well as offer free webinars. I also do private sessions online, and special workshops on Saturdays.
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
Helping people discover their inner power through Brain Education.
What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?
When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron, Letting Go by David Hawkins, Untamed by Glennon Doyle.
What advice do you have to offer our readers?
If you find yourself lost in the struggles of life, look within. Feel yourself. All the answers are within you.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
My biological mother is actress Kate Mulgrew. At the time of our reunion, she was starring as Captain Janeway on Star Trek Voyager. She was actually sitting in her trailer at Paramount the first time we spoke.
What’s next for you?
Sharing Healing Tree and the practices within to the adoption community and beyond, in order to share a message of hope, as well as practical tools for application, to as many as I can.
