What is your book about?

Each author suffered near-death experiences and sought renewal through the wisdom of human virtues that refocused them on a life of richness, appreciation, joy and service. Offered in the format of an enchanting and charming dialogue between the two authors, the book also includes their chronicles of pain and triumph, allegories, stories, and inspirational and insightful quotes. The exploration of each of the 13 Golden Pearls creates a necklace of self-empowerment that will enhance anyone’s life.

What inspired you to write your book?

Bonded by their shared traumas and their renewed appreciation for the value of life and service, Dr. Lycka and Harriet wanted to give others “The Secrets to Living a Fantastic Life” that they distilled from their own experience. These 13 essential human elements were founded from the grains of near catastrophe and transformed into “Golden Pearls of Wisdom.”

The authors are on a mission to transform lives. Dr. Allen Lycka is now a full-time life-changing speaker, acclaimed author and transformational leader and Harriet Tinka, in addition to these pursuits, coaches young women to fully embrace who they are through her Empowered Me programs. Both are available together or alone for speaking engagements, radio and television show interviews, and life coaching sessions.

What is a typical day like for you?

Dr. Lycka: My day varies immensely based on what is required of me. For example, my day today started at 6 am. with a call to a Dubai speaking bureau. Yesterday was taken up writing responses to social media for a highly successful Book of the Day feature by the online book club (in which we had over 1,000 responses. All days are filled with writing and podcasts. In the latter, we have been featured on shows will up to 6.5 million viewers and shows that are syndicated.

Harriet: My morning ritual is to wake up at 5 am and avoid my phone for an hour. I focus on my morning seeds, my gratitude list, meditation and or exercise follows. Every day, I spend 30 minutes reading a personal development book or listening to a podcast or inspirational messages. I always write down my outcome list for the day. Additionally, I spend time with my family, and on average, I get to bed by 10:30 pm.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

Dr. Lycka: Helping others achieve their goals.

Harriet: I enjoy seeing individuals make intentional decisions to transform their lives using the content and tools I share with them.

Harriet: Hope is made stronger through tragedy.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Dr. Lycka: That I love to travel to new and exciting places, I’m a gourmet chef and a professional photographer.

Harriet: I run 100 miles Ultramarathon races. People would be surprised that as athletic as I am, I cannot ride a bicycle.

What’s next for you?

Dr. Lycka and Harriet contributed to Jack Canfield’s new book, Pillars of Success. Dr. Lycka also provided a chapter for Corey Poirier’s upcoming book; bLU Talks Presents; Business, Life and the Universe.
