What is your book about?

It’s a parenting guide in taking a “coach approach’ to raising kids with a wide range of kids with challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, depression, autism, etc.

What inspired you to write your book?

The help and guidance I needed it when my kids were younger was not available, and traditional parenting books left me feeling terrible about myself as a parent.

If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:

Impact Parents is a private sector business for the public good. We are an online resource for parents of complex kids, and the parent company for the award winning blog ImpactADHD®, as well as ImpactAnxiety and ImpactComplexKids. Since 2011, the majority of what we provide is free to the online community; in addition, we’ve provided information products, coaching, training and support — online and on the phone — for parents and professionals supporting kids who struggle with some aspects of life or learning.

What is a typical day like for you?

I’m a CEO running a virtual company that supports hundreds of members, so I wear many hats. I coach private clients and groups, I write and curate a blog, I handle all media inquiries and provide interviews, I do all the marketing writing and collaborate with my business partner and our team to serve our community as best as we can.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

I love speaking, writing, and coaching — at different times each is my favorite. Coaching is magic and I love to be of service; speaking jazzes me and I love it; and writing is my therapy (when I can create time for it!).

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

Mindset Mondays with DTK; Soulbattical; Many Lives, Many Masters; Educated.

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

Write from your heart and with transparency — it’s okay to be messy. And trust that you have something to say that other people need to here.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I’m actually an introvert and struggle with social anxiety.

What’s next for you?

To get this book into the hands and offices of the people who need it!
