What inspired you to write your book?

I was never destined for success in sales. Two analytical parents, anti-salesperson household, got my bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, tagged sharks, worked for Microsoft doing tech support, and didn’t get my first sales job until I was 27. After 17 years, realized what I, and hundreds of reps I trained, did to be successful in sales – without manipulation, tricks, or tactics.

If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:

Cutter Consulting Group – I consult for companies to help them improve their sales team’s effectiveness, develop new sales processes, and coach individual reps and managers on how to be highly effective at selling.

What is a typical day like for you?

Creating content, client work, coaching calls, social media posts, managing projects with my team, and these days – many zoom calls!

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

The part I love the most is that lightbulb moment – when I train or coach someone on a concept, they use it, it works, they get results or close the deal, and are excited about what they are doing.

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

The Emyth Revisited, The Five Love Languages, No Ego – All books that would help someone in business, sales, or life.

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

That when they embrace who they are (authenticity), and combine that with shifting their view of sales to an act by a professional – it is no longer about selling, but persuading and leading prospects.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

A) My degree is in marine biology, and I tagged sharks for many years, B) I have done 8 total deployments as a government contractor.

What’s next for you?

Speaking, coaching program, grow my consulting team, create more courses, and write my second book.
