What is your book about?

This book integrates memoir and self-help and is about the process of resolving mother-daughter conflicts.

What inspired you to write your book?

I wanted to understand and resolve my ambivalent feelings about my mother.

Can you describe your writing process? How did you get your book written and how long did it take?

I wrote pieces of this book on/off for 30 years. Not till my mother passed away did I decide to create a book.

What was your publishing process like? How did you publish your book and how long did it take?

I published with She Writes Press, a hybrid. It took 2 years. It was pretty easy and supportive

How do you hope your book impacts the world?

I hope it helps readers reappraise important relationships. All relationships are imperfect, and holding onto resentment is damaging.

Are there any people and/or books that have inspired you along your journey?

Dozens of Mother-Daughter experts including Hope Edelman Bethany Webster.

What advice would you offer fellow authors who are just getting started?

Keep writing, find a group/class, find a mentor.
