What is your book about?

Squint opens our eyes to the abundant possibilities of later life. It pairs memorable personal stories with larger themes — downsizing, caregiving, forgiveness, estrangement, and more — and shows that with the right perspective, the future is rich with possibility.

What inspired you to write your book?

After decades as an entrepreneur and pioneer in Senior Move Management, I left my life of title and work to begin a new role as author, thought leader and champion of a revisioned view of aging. my goal is not to sugarcoat reality, but to show that with the right perspective, the future is rich with possibility. work.

What is a typical day like for you?

Squint was written during covid while we cocooned in a house by the river. We remain there now, and its amore mindful existence than we had before. Life here revolves around my husband and three dogs. My days include book marketing, group personal training, walks while listening to audio books, bike rides and kayaking. It’s a good life.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

The miracle of free time, increased mindfulness that enables me to appreciate what I have, and faith that I will find the purpose I need for meaning.

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

Being Mortal and When Breath Becomes Air are my two favorite nonfiction books. The Henna Artist and Unsheltered are among my favorite fiction book, but that’s largely because of great narrators as well.

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

Like Joan Didion, I write to discover what I feel. I love the craft of writing, and I think all authors do. Do what you love.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

In spite of my optimism, navigating this phase after work and title is still a struggle. I don’t know where I’m going, but I do feel on my way. Living with uncertainly is both exhilarating and hard.

What’s next for you?

Becoming a best selling author, of course, or being interviewed by Oprah.
