What is your book about?

In this book Michele Mariscal offers a perspective on the possibility of growth through the difficult journey of grief and loss. Difficult emotions may hold in them the seed for healing. Included are practices to help eliminate anxiety and depression by processing these emotions of loss.

What inspired you to write your book?

My own journey through grief – I reached a peak so difficult that she found it hard to get out of bed and show up to work. But through dedicated practice and trust that something awaited her on the other side of overwhelm, I now shares how hope and the power of choice can be your allies in moving through grief and loss.

If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:

I provide private one on one coaching with an evidenced based 8 week Grief Recovery Method.

What is a typical day like for you?

Currently I am working remotely with my job and spend time everyday moving my body, and making good food in my kitchen. I work with my scheduled, create or deliver webinars about anxiety and loss, work on meaningful content to share on social media to support us all in these days of COVID.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

I love being able to facilitate people in their process of grief recovery – I witness such a shift in people who reclaims parts of themselves.

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

How to Know Higher Worlds, Rudolf Steiner, Atomic Habits, James Clear, The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

It is so important during these days of COVID to prioritize self-care. While being “present” may not seem like a tool – if you can focus on present moment, move to a neutral stance by focusing your attention in your heart with your breath – it will help you to calm your nervous system.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

While I appear to be extroverted with my work i am actually an introvert.

What’s next for you?

I am preparing a TedX talk on the Power of Choice.
