What is your book about?

Navigating Life addresses the challenges of how to create real, sustainable progress when you’re being tugged in a million different directions at once. It walks you through how to set up systems that take into account multiple areas of potential friction. Although I do explain some of the psychology behind why we do what we do, the focus is a simple, practical steps that you can do to change your life. The ebook is also available in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.

What inspired you to write your book?

Like most of my work, my writing is driven with challenges that I’ve had to deal with, myself. I love ideas but am easily distracted. I needed to find ways to channel my energy and attention so I could complete bigger projects. I think documented what I did so that I could share it with others. If nothing else, I know the tools in the book have a proof of concept of 1, because they worked for me!

If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:

I’m currently in the liminal place of transition, but my company, The Fullness of Your Power, has focused on helping people who felt like they were their own worst enemy learn how to embrace all parts of themselves so they could live happier, more successful, and more deeply satisfying lives.

What is a typical day like for you?

I don’t know if I can describe a “typical” day because there are a lot of things going on: my mother-in-law and 104-year old grandmother both recently passed away, my kids are graduating high school, and like I mentioned earlier, I, myself, am in a place of transition. However, I still make sure to start my days by going for a walk and looking at the trees and sky, getting some writing in, and closing out my day with reflection and planning for the next, and spending time with my husband.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

I love helping people let go of old stories that aren’t supporting them. My favorite question is: “What else might be possible?”

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab. It’s a fantasy book that explores how to find magic and beauty in life when you live forever but no one remembers you. Stealing Fire by Jamie Wheal and Steven Kotler about the expansion of human consciousness and potential. The Charge by Brandon Burchard. Although his most recent book (High Performance Habits) is also excellent, I love that The Charge emphasizes how to experience your life more fully.

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

Break things down into small steps. Manage your environment to reduce friction. Willpower is over-rated, so do what you can to make it as easy as possible to do what you want. Practice balancing compassion and accountability towards yourself and others. We’re all human, doing the best we can, so love yourself, and keep moving.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I have my own IMDB listing, and I occasionally contribute photographs to Pixabay and Unsplash.

What’s next for you?

I honestly have no idea, but I am very excited to find out!
