In the period surrounding the early 1990s there were serious budgetary shake-ups in the federal procurement process that would have a serious effect on nearly every major defense company that was dealing largely with the federal Government. The Grumman Company got caught up in some unfavorable politics and was forced to seek a merger as a method of survival. The author was named the lead executive to achieve a favorable merger with The Northrop Company. This book contains all of the details that were never before released, describing back room Board discussions and the unauthorized activities of an investment bank that turned this friendly merger into a hostile takeover of Grumman by Northrop.
Author Bio:
The author graduated from Norwich University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He spent most of his 35-year career working for the Grumman Company where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President of the corporation. In this capacity he was named the lead executive to determine the avenues available to the company for survival in a turbulent defense industry. In this capacity he was involved in every aspect of the discussions and negotiations that eventually lead to a hostile takeover of Grumman by The Northrop Company. After retiring from Northrop in 1995, the author decided to dedicate his efforts to researching and writing about freshwater fishing and published six books on that subject before finally being convinced to write this book to properly close the history books on The Grumman Company.
